Get to Know our Special Stars Staff
Nicole Morris
Nicole grew up in Arlington Heights and began dancing at McDonald Dance Academy in 1996. She continued dancing through high school and went on to college for her education degree. Nicole received her bachelor’s degree in general education at Northern Illinois University and continued at Roosevelt University for special education. She started teaching in 2008 and has experience working in District 54, NSSEO and District 15. During her years of teaching she worked with a variety of age groups and a range of disabilities. The majority of her teaching career was working with students with Autism. She continues to work with students outside the school setting to help build functional and independence skills.
Marcy Meyer
Marcy received her BS in special education from Illinois State University and her MA in reading from Olivet-Nazarene University. She has been a self-contained special education teacher in the Palatine school district for the past 15 years in the Structured for Independence Program. She is trained in many different communication systems and sensory regulation techniques. She was one of the original students of McDonald Dance Academy and continued to dance through high school. Special Stars is a highlight of her week and she is honored to be a part of it!
Kelly Dziurgot
Kelly graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA in Dance and an Entrepreneurship Certificate. Kelly has performed works by renowned choreographers Alan Sener, Armando Duarte, and Charlotte Adams and performed a summer series of Duarte Dance Works pieces. Kelly previously danced with Project 606 Company along with other independent works such as JMT/JLS. She was the previous orchesis director at St.Viator and teaches at local area studios. Kelly has taught master classes at CNADM and has received her Jazz teacher certification in Giordano Jazz technique in levels beginning through advanced.
